What Our Client Says

Charlotte and her team of employees have provided care to my Mum, Betty She has dementia and all the staff give her 100% care and attention. We have an app which allows us to read updates of each visit that has been made, this information is extremely helpful. The staff are obviously trained to assist dementia patients as they have a lovely manner with Mum, they read poems and sing old songs with her. They stimulate her with games and photographs. Charlotte is often giving us feedback and advice for better safeguarding and care of Mum. Charlotte is always very professional in her approach, and this must be filtered through her staff as they too are always well composed and very patient with Mum. At Christmas Charlotte organised a party for all her clients at St. Catherine's Hospice cafe. The afternoon tea was amazing and there were Carol singing activities and opportunities for everyone to join in. Mum still talks about this now, which is quite unusual as she very rarely has short term memory recall. We are very appreciative of this opportunity for Mum and know that Charlotte hit the 'brief' impeccably for this event. We cannot recommend the Willows Care enough.

We employed The Willows to care for my father when my mother passed away in 2020. With none of his children living in the local area, it was imperative we had carers to help with my father’s declining memory. My father was reluctant at first to have anybody in his home but over time, and due to the skill and trust his carers have built up with my father, he could not do without them. My father’s needs have continued to change and his carers have adapted and been able to support and care for my father to remain in his own home. He is now 90 and has dementia but they make sure he takes his medication, they make sure he bathes regularly, is fed, has clean clothes, and is safe. He has built up excellent relationships with them and now understand what my father likes and care for him based on this.

The team are all great. Caring and thoughtful as well as reliable and very professional with extremely high standards. Charlotte leads from the front and will introduce any new team members before they start. She is always available for a discussion about care needs and the team work well with other professionals such as GP and District Nurse. Willows look after my elderly mother and I cannot speak too highly of the care she has received. We both consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Willows.

Willows is an excellent and very professional care company. The most recent example is that my elderly mother had a fall on 30/9/22 evening and the boss, Charlotte (an ex-paramedic of many years) ensured that she carried out the next morning's visit so she could assess mum's injuries. We went to A & E on 3/10 and there was no problem cancelling the next few days visits as mum was kept in hospital. She was discharged on 5/10 afternoon and care was arranged for that teatime at late notice. The lovely carer who visited mum then asked Charlotte to let her carry out the next morning's visit as she knew mum's situation best. Willows always give my mum a white board with the next week's carers and times, which is a big help to mum and me. Mum receives most of her care from a small number of carers, all of whom she is very fond of and thinks of her regulars as friends rather than carers, a true testament - I know that Charlotte is very fussy about who she employs. Only rarely does a different carer to the rota arrive, but always one that mum has met before. Mum has never been left without a scheduled visit and, on the rare occasion that the carer is held up, she receives an update call so she doesn't worry. I'm very happy with how they are looking after mum, from a cup of tea and a chat when all duties have been done, to cleaning up when mum very rarely has an accident. Nothing is too much trouble.

My husband and I have received the best care for the last couple of years. They meet every need we require, personal care, household tasks and more importantly brighten up the day! We always know the time they are going to arrive and if there are any problems Charlotte will contact us with a solution. Likewise, Charlotte is always available to sort out any queries we may have. Her girls are definitely handpicked and lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I look forward to my cheery morning greeting which never fails to make us smile.

My Mum has health concerns and dementia, I am one of 4 children, 3 of us live a significant distance from my Mum ( over 3 hrs away). We employed Willows Home Care Ltd to enable Mum to remain independent in her own home for as long as possible The company is superbly lead and managed by Charlotte. The carers feedback any concerns to her and she will contact us to either share information/ work out next steps/ or liaise with us. She is professional and caring, a great combination. Her judgement about when to share/involve us is excellent. All the carers respect her and work clearly within the guidelines/policy that Charlotte/her company have set out. e.g. one morning my mum was very upset. The carers had tried all their normal tricks to support mum , but unusually none of them worked. Charlotte rang me just suggesting a phone call to mum might be timely. I rang my mum and managed to rally her and she was so grateful. e.g. 2 Mum was struggling with high BP and we were trying to keep her out of hospital / A&E. We managed to get an increased prescription for BP medication and the carer returned twice to the chemist ensuring that Mum got the correct medication. The Carer was supported to do this by Charlotte. In this instance the carer used her break in order to ensure my mum had the correct medication Charlotte works very hard to ensure that Mum always has the same carers who know her. Charlotte introduces each carer personally to mum and Charlotte knows all her clients personally and in depth The Carers have clear policies and guidelines and provide consistent high quality support for my Mum. They treat my mum with kindness and respect and my mum thinks they are all lovely and looks forward to them coming each day despite her significantly reduced short term memory. All the carers are trained in supporting people with dementia and this is clearly evident in how they talk to, and interact with mum. As Mum's care needs have increased Charlotte has been able to respond with increased hours of support very quickly. Again, this has helped us as a family The company also use NurseBuddy to record visit information which we can access daily. This helps all our family to work together and know how Mum is managing day to day ( she is unable to tell us on the phone). As a family we feel very confident that mum receives high quality care from everyone at Willows Home Care. We feel that the company works to the highest standards and provides good value for money.

The level of care is very high but it is the communication levels that stand out My Dad is 86 and has 3 care visits per day The caters and management team communicate with myself on a regular basis by various means such as via the app, notes at home and email and SNS with myself on all matters regarding my Dads care and this is very useful to myself. All the caters are very professional and the service is exceptional.

Charlotte and Team, We did not want too much water to flow under the bridge before we wrote to you to thank you for the amazing care you gave our Dad and continue to provide Mum. As you are more than aware Mum and Dad's care needs are highly complex presenting fairly unique challenges to a care team. What has never ceased to amaze us is the endless energy Willow has employed in this caring role and it made Dad's final months with us as positive as could have been possible. It would be wrong of us to single any of the team out as they are all amazing and each brings something unique to the care provided. These skills are so wide ranging from compassion to cooking, cleaning to cabaret! What really touched us was the way in which all the team genuinely struggled to leave Dad at the end of each shift, knowing that it could be the last time they saw him. The last week was a long one for us all, but the three of us came to look forward to the team arriving on a shift by shift basis, such was the positive impact it made on Dad, Mum and ourselves. Now Dad has left us our thoughts turn to a celebration of his life with all his family and friends invited and we hope that you will join us at that event when we arrange it as we view you all as friends now. Mum's care will continue of course for now, albeit we have a difficult decision to make to decide how that care is structured and where. For now please keep doing what you are doing - Dad's final days were as comfortable as they could have possibly been surrounded by family, his amazing care team, laughter and the odd tear. From the three of us, thanks so much for playing the massive part in this that you did. All our love,
Ben, Pip and Scott
Willow Home Care have been involved with my family for the last five years originally they were here to befriend my mum and support with the light housework as the time has moved on my mum has become more dependent on the team. Throughout Covid it was very difficult as I was unable to see my mother as my husband had cancer and subsequently died. For a three month period I could not see my mother at all because of the situation and Willow Home Care looked after her excellently throughout this period and have always continued to do that. I am now retired but my previous employment was as a social work manager for Lancashire County Council for many years . I have through my employment dealt with lots of care companies but I must state that they provided excellent care and have never let me down or miss any of our agreed sessions to support my mother. Willow Home Care have also been supporting my mother and myself through some very difficult times especially around Covid we have lost three significant people within the family which has had a dramatic effect on my mother and myself. My mother has recently been diagnosed with dementia and the team at Willow have always been there for both of us with this devastating news ,they now support my mother every day for four sessions a day which allows me to be able to have some form of social life knowing that she is well cared for and I can totally rely on their services .

Good morning Charlotte, Please can you thank all the girls from the bottom of my heart, for the care and support given to Mum in the short time that they have been coming. Your policy of careful selection and paying a premium wage has ensured the staff are all dedicated and compassionate. It has been a pleasure to work with you and them to care for Mum. She has always been and will continue to be my priority. Kind regards

We have been using Willows Home Care to care for our mother since July 2020. The service has been exemplary. Charlotte and her staff are always professional, competent and compassionate. Our mother has particularly good relationships with her regular carers and it is evident that they genuinely care about her and think if her as a friend. When my father needed end of life care Charlotte and her team went out of their way to assist me and the family in caring for Dad at home. Their experience and sensitivity were a great reassurance to us at a very difficult time. We have had experience of other care companies and compared to those experiences, the service provided by Willows Home Care is far superior.

As a family we decided that my mum needed a care home, and we found one that seemed great. It was not and we then decided to bring mum home and bring in a new team of carers – Willows Home Care. Our mum has mixed dementia, and like most people had good and bad days. The team from Willows, Charlotte , Jenny , Sue, Nicole, Dorothy and Becca all showed our mum respect, care and affection during the 12 months that they looked after her. They listened to her, and made the visits to the garden centre, park, duck pond etc all about Mum, these were the things she liked and would still do if possible. They listened to us as a family, and we worked together to make mum’s life better. Throughout the original lockdown, things were made more difficult as they could no longer take mum out the same, but they used to occupy her time with jigsaw, and looking through the photo albums several time. Thank you to all of you, not only did you help mum, but you helped the rest of the family to almost have a normal life. Sadly, my mum has had to go in a care home but she still asks for ‘her ladies’ We could not recommend a more capable, supportive team to have in your home, looking after your nearest and dearest.

This is in reference to the Willows Home Care Agency- Charlotte Wright- Proprietor. Charlotte and her Team of Carers have been providing care and support 4 times a day for my Dad within his own home for the past 12 months. During this period the Team, led and managed by Charlotte have provided an professional efficient, caring, safe, respectful, reliable, person centered approach to the daily-care and support given to my dad. They are proactive in their approach in providing holistic care and communicate closely with us as a family in order to provide and maintain the service as efficiently and effective as possible. This includes assessing and maintaining Dads medical care, personal hygiene and household environment and ensuring regular meals. They are fully aware of the importance of assessing Dads mental and physical and safety needs and respond appropriately. Thus providing dignity and self respect within his own home. The 'nursebuddy' portal system that the team use at each visit has been particularly useful in providing an effective form of communication and in planning care. We as a family are able to access it at any time to see what kind of a day Dad is having. This has been a very difficult year for Dad as an individual and for us as a family following a bereavement. However having the Willow Care Agency attend to Dads daily care and needs have been positive and reassuring giving peace of mind to Dad and the family. It has become very evident that Charlotte carefully picks her team of Carers and that they work well as a Team. I would like to say on behalf of the family that by continuing to receive the services from Willow Care this is a positive experience and provides good value for money and we can recommend them to anyone needing safe, excellent care and support.

Willows Home Care, the most wonderful people ever, I cannot describe how fantastic charlotte and her team are, the best and would recommend to everyone. Charlotte and her ladies help my grandma and my grandma loves them so much she says they are classed as her daughters! Its so hard to find people to come in to your home that you trust, Charlotte and her team are those people. I really can not explain properly how amazing they are. You must try and get the proof!
Mrs Miller - Penwortham
I chose Willows Home Care because Charlotte covers aspects of home care that other companies couldn't provide. I liked the fact that the ladies do not wear uniforms so that they look like friends or family rather than carers. Charlotte and her team are compassionate, caring and thoughtful people who care about the person they are providing support for. its not just a job to them. It was hard in the beginning accepting strangers into my home but I now regard the ladies as friends who pop in rather than carers. Highly recommended.

My sister-in-law who lives in Penwortham saw Charlotte's article in the Home Handbook and told me about the services she provides. After losing my husband last year it has been a very difficult and upsetting time. Charlotte takes me food shopping to Sainsbury's once a week and we go into town or to the retail park or have a coffee and chat. I feel like I have known her for years and I call her my new best friend to people who ask. I enjoy time with my family at weekend but my outings with Charlotte give a welcome lift to my week, something to look forward to.

Charlotte and her team have made such a big difference to, not only Mums life, but to our lives as well (3 Daughters). Since having 2 strokes in March which has affected not only her mobility, but also her ability to manage her day to day life, she gets very confused and forgets things, but she has only limited vision now in both eyes, and is Visually Impaired. We as a family tried by having a rota system for during the daytime, and also for sleepovers to care for her. We soon realised we could not sustain this for very long. It began to impact on our own families, but also we were exhausted. Mum also realised this and she began to feel that she was putting on us all too much. It was at that point that Charlotte and her ladies came in to all our lives. They have helped Mum to overcome so many difficulties and are now enabling her to live independently in her own home.T hey have encouraged Mum to be in Charge of her own home again, something I feel she never thought she would be able to do again. she has got back her self worth, her love of life and is again interested in people and all that is going on with us all. Although life is still a challenge for her, she has her strength of character back, and her confidence is growing every day. I cannot praise Charlotte and her team too highly. I would recommend, without hesitation to anyone needing help in caring for their loved ones. They do so much to help Mum, and encourage her on a daily basis. Mum loves their company and life is now beginning to settle down once again
